ESTA USA Application – What You Need To Know

Do you know everything about the ESTA visa waiver program, or do you need some more information? Maybe you have applied with the electronic system for travel authorization before, but it’s been awhile. If it was more than two years ago, then you should know that the ESTA you have is no longer valid. You’re going to have to apply online and get the authorization so that you can get all your travel arrangements made.

Be aware that the ESTA is just for your authorization, but that doesn’t mean you are guaranteed to be able to get into the US. You will fly into the US, but clearing security is what gains you entry. Everyone just needs to be aware that the ESTA isn’t really the authorization altogether. The border patrol agents are who has to really clear you in person.

If you already have your passport, make sure it’s not expiring anytime soon. If it is expiring soon, you might as well renew it first. That will make sure that an expired passport doesn’t end up canceling out your ESTA. You see, it’s good for two years, the ESTA, but an expired passport would cancel it out. You would have to apply yet again before your next trip.

Some people think that you have to jump through hoops to qualify for the visa waiver program, but that’s not the case. It’s quite easy, and it’s the visa process that is a hassle. The VWP helps you get around the hassle, and you’re able to do it for just $14. Yep, if you thought it was expensive, guess again.

If for some reason you get denied when you apply with ESTA, you would want to know if you are going to get a refund. You would actually still have to pay $4, just not the entire $14. You’re of course hoping that’s not going to happen because you’re wanting to travel to the US.

Keep in mind that if you find out your trip is going to be for more than 90 days, you’re going to have to get a visa instead. The travel authorization isn’t going to be valid after three months. And if you return quickly to the US after a short trip, make sure that the clock restarts for you. That being said, you are ready to visit the official ESTA site and fill out your application.…
